Like a Gibson Girl

Gibson Girl era o nome dado à personagem que aparecia nas ilustrações do americano Charles Dana Gibson no início do século XX. Geralmente eram mulheres altas, magras e elegantes. Usavam espartilhos apertadíssimos e os cabelos presos num coque alto, além de terem um busto amplo. Representavam uma mulher moderna e ativa. Também representavam o ideal de beleza durante a Belle Époque. As Gibson Girls mais famosas eram  Evelyn Nesbit, Camille Clifford e Irene Langhorne, que casou-se com Charles Gibson. 

Gibson Girl was the name of the character that used to appear in the illustrations of Charles Dana Gibson in the early twentieth century. They usually were tall, thin and elegant women. Used to wear a swan-bill corset and also used to wear their hair in a chignon. Represented a modern and active woman. Also represented the beauty standard of the Belle Époque. The most famous Gibson Girls were Evelyn Nesbit, Camille Clifford and Irene Langhorne, who got married to Charles Gibson.
