Skin tone: Dusky with warm undertones
Hi everyone,
Today, I will review another beautiful coloured eyeliner from the L.A. Girl Gel Glide Eyeliner Range. This particular range has many beautiful shades, and I’ve already reviewed two shades. Also, I bought two new shades as they suited my dusky skin tone well. One of them is the Black Amethyst. Check out its review here.
Price and Quantity: 450 INR for 1.2 gm.
Product Description:
Makeup wearers no longer have to choose between the ease of application in an eye pencil and the smooth feel of liquid eyeliner. The new glide liner has the soft and gliding feel of liquid that comes in a pencil that can be sharpened. Available in 19 highly pigmented colours, this product is designed for makeup enthusiasts and trendsetters who are looking for the best products on the market as a reasonable price.
My Experience with L.A. Girl Gel Glide Eyeliner Pencil Black Amethyst:
Packaging: L.A. Girl Glide Gel Liner is a matte black and sharpenable pencil. Although I find sharpenable pencils to be hygienic, I’m not a big fan of these plastic versions with soft lead. While the wooden pencils can be sharpened in a precise manner, these kind of pencils are often prone to breakage. However, if you sharpen it carefully, the tip does not break in this one. This pencil has a colour-coded pattern and fonts printed all over it. There is a colour-coded base in the pencil, so if you have many of them in your stash, it’s super easy to locate the one you need. A transparent plastic cap is provided to protect the tip from damage. Overall, the packaging is good and travel-friendly.
Shade/Texture/Pigmentation: The shade, “Black Amethyst” is actually a deep amethyst color, similar to the color which the amethyst stone reflects. It is a deep, blackish violet shade, and due to the presence of glitters, it looks glossy and shiny. However, the shade looks different under different lighting conditions. The glitters are not huge and chunky instead, they give a subtle shimmery effect. The colour suits my skin tone perfectly. However, this colour will look striking and bolder on fairer women. The pigmentation is good still, I need two swipes to get an opaque coverage and true colour payoff. It glides effortlessly along the lid and never feels dry. I had a bad experience with the “Metallic Copper” shade from the same range as the glitters irritated my lower waterline line badly. So, I’ve decided not to use it in waterline (I did it for the swatch though). While removing from the eyes, it irritated my eyes as some of the glitters went inside. So, you have to be extra careful with it. Basically, I use this liner to draw a line on the upper lid, and also as an eyeshadow or an eyeshadow base to make my eyeshadow look popped up.
Staying Power: It stays on for around 7-8 hours and settles into a velvety matte finish. Once it sets, it stays smudge proof and waterproof. The colour intensity also stays the same. The shimmers also stay in place without moving around. It does not crease easily when used as an eyeshadow, but when layered, it does smudge. It fades a little from the inner corners. Removing it with a water-based cleanser can be messy and can irritate the eyes badly. I prefer a cream-based product to remove it completely.
Overall, Black Amethyst is a unique shade, and I’m happy to have it in my stash. I guess the pencils with glitters from this range irritate the eyes while the matte or shimmery ones don’t. However, the results may vary with every individual.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend L.A. Girl Gel Glide Eyeliner Pencil Black Amethyst?
You can grab it as the shade is really unique. This pencil will take long to finish up. After that, I will try to get a similar shade without any shimmer.
