Then there were the comments from Miuccia Prada herself that she is concerned about the state of Italian fashion - that is receives very little coverage in Italian media and now Jil Sander has pulled out of Milan Fashion Week.
It's an exciting time for Jil Sander as well - the woman herself has returned to the brand and Raf Simons has left for Dior - everyone was excited to see where this left the brand.
There will be two independent shows instead of two shows (women and menswear) during fashion week. I think she might have the right idea if designers are as concerned about the fashion week juggling as they seem to be. Best to wait until you have their complete attention.
However, I do feel that designers jamming their shows in from 19th - 23rd instead of 19th - 25th makes a bit of a mockery out of Milan. Its as if Milan isn't as important as Paris - its not - but they really shouldn't make such a big deal out of it!
